I don’t need a cleaner. But I have one anyway.

I have a cleaner. 

To be clear, I am fully capable of cleaning my own home. We live in a small apartment. It’s not a huge task. It’s not particularly hard. But I still outsource it.

Why? Because I understand something that a lot of photographers don’t (yet): Just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should.

Could I spend clean the apartment myself? Absolutely.

Would it take me longer than my cleaner? Definitely

Would I enjoy it? Not even a little bit (and we all know I’d do a worse job).

It would cost me more than just time – it would cost me opportunity. Because every hour I spend doing something low-value is an hour I’m not creating content, planning strategy, serving clients, building long-term assets, or – let’s be honest – resting so I can show up with energy and clarity later.

This is the concept so many photographers miss: You think you’re saving money by doing it all yourself. But really, you’re just clogging your week with $20/hour tasks instead of $200/hour ones.

You’re spending hours:

• Responding to every single email manually
• Designing your own workflows
• Tinkering endlessly with Canva
• Manually retouching images one by one
• Watching 17 YouTube videos instead of asking one expert a straight question

And you justify it by saying, “It’s just easier if I do it myself.” But what if…
